VEBAgroup has obtained from Bureau Veritas the Type Approval Certificate

VEBAgroup, the Italian company specialized in the production of fittings for hydraulics, has obtained from Bureau Veritas the Type Approval Certificate for the type of product NON-METALLIC HOSES (FLEXIBLE PIPES) ASSEMBLIES YOKOHAMA Rubber Hoses acc. to DIN 20 022 1SN / 100R1 TYPE AT and DIN 20 022 2SN / 100R2 TYPE AT and YOKOHAMA Rubber Hoses ISO 18752 Standard EXCEED Series ISO 21 - ISO 28 - ISO 35. The type approval was only made possible by the enormous support and assistance provided by partner Yokohama, which VEBAgroup is distributor for Europe.

VEBAgroup, always careful to identify the market demands, introduces the new YS ferrule. The new YS, SKIVE, is primarily for flexible rubber hoses 2ST, 2SN (R2A and R2AT), 4SP (R9R) and 4SH, in replacement of   040050 and 040080. The YS is a multipurpose ferrule that unify 4 products in one, reducing the need for stock. The strengths of these ferrules are in the design of the internal profile and the outer profile is designed to contain extension.

VEBA group restyles its hose brand PROflex Yellow for the spiral hoses and white for the braided. Those are the colours chosen by VEBA group for its new hose brand PROflex. The Modena-based company specialising in the planning, production and distribution of fittings, hoses and accessories for hydraulics has chosen a new graphic design for its brand PROflex in order to enhance the visibility and identity of its flexible hoses. Unlike the previous black version, we have decided to opt for an easily identifiable brand which is at once attractive and eye-catching. This communication initiative reflects the company’s new focus on R&D investments in order to meet market demands more effectively through new products and services.

PTC ASIA – a leading fair for Power Transmission and Control will take place this October, from 27th to 30th, at Shanghai New International Expo Center.

VEBAgroup is present in hall W3, stand C2-5. The exhibition with a history of 17 years has gradually built up its reputation as the Asia’s largest and the world second exhibition of this kind. This year’s session is surely no exception which is expected to have over 1,200 exhibitors to display the latest products and technologies on the 58,000 sqm show area.

A leader in the design and manufacture of hydraulic fittings, VEBA group has developed a fitting and ferrule designed to speed up assembly of spiral hoses. The SuperSpiral insert and ferrule, made of a single piece without welds, can be used to assemble spiral hoses such as EN 856 4SP, EN 856 4SH, SAE 100 R13 and SAE 100 R15 without the need for external skiving. This allows for greater speed of assembly without requiring dedicated machinery to remove the hose cover. A specially developed coupling profile between the ferrule, hose and insert ensures that the system passes even the toughest tests (impulse tests in accordance with standard SAE J343) with flying colours. The SuperSpiral insert and ferrule are available for 3/4” and 1” hoses and will soon also be available for ¼”, 3/8”, ½” and 5/8” hoses.

With the target of increasing its range of products, the R&D department realized a new series of fittings called ONE PIECE SP series, (insert + ferrule).

The new series is dedicated to wired hoses (EN853 1SN, 2SN - EN857 2SC) and it’s “no skive”, that means the operator have not to peel the hose before crimping.

The ONE PIECE SP series has been studied and realized to:

• Simplify and abbreviate the crimping operations;
• Rationalize the warehouse logistic incorporating in only one piece two items.

It’s already available the new USA Catalogue with all the technical information necessary for the purchase and assembly.

VEBA piemonte, the new branch opened by VEBA group, is equipped with technology for applying galvanised steel or AISI 316 stainless steel braid to rubber hoses for low and high pressure applications. This operation is performed by the braiding department of the Turin-based company, which is also capable of braiding customer-supplied hoses extremely rapidly and at any time. VEBA piemonte is fully equipped for braiding hoses with diameters between 4 and 36.

Veba group attended the 2007 edition of Hannover Messe (16-20 April), the world's leading showcase for industrial technology. Veba group’s new yellow and black brand and logo, new products and new technologies studied by the research and development laboratory, were presented at the international exhibition at Hall 21, Stand B10/6. The total attendance was of over 230,000 visitors, up more than 10 percent on the last edition. Visitors from abroad represented around 30 percent of total attendance, with the biggest increases in foreign participation coming from the Americas and eastern Europe. Apart from Germany, the top six countries in terms of visitor attendance were India, the Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark and Italy. With regard to industries, the biggest visitor increases were registered in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering & electronics, and the food and beverage industry. With around 73,000 first-time visitors in all, this year’s edition succeeded in reaching many new target groups. The rate of international participation among exhibitors was even stronger than for visitors. Out of the 6,400 exhibitors at this year’s event, 3,222 came from abroad — from 68 different countries. This put the international turnout at over 50 percent. Europe was the main exhibitor continent, followed by Asia and the Americas. Apart from Germany, the year’s main exhibitor nations were Italy, China and Turkey (this year’s Partner Country).

The newly-opened VEBA piemonte branch in Turin is the first Italian branch opened by the Modena-based company specialising in the production of fittings, hoses and accessories for hydraulics. VEBA piemonte will serve the Piedmont region’s market by providing extensive technical and logistic support. This project is part of VEBA group’s growth strategy that aims to increase market share by providing new types of service and improved customer care. “Piedmont is an important market for VEBA group,” comments managing director Alessio Badiali. “The new branch will allow us to provide a high-quality service. Products will be delivered rapidly and we will be able to handle even the smallest orders.” VEBA piemonte will work alongside regional distributors and customers already operating in the area. “The branch will provide operational support and offer our partners further growth opportunities through a direct geographical presence.”

Several foreign buyers at Veba group stand  -

The 2006 edition of Eima International was a record breaker. It welcomed 133,600 visitors (103,300 in 2005). In its four days, the International Exhibition of Machinery for Agriculture and Gardening welcomed over 18,000 foreign business visitors, doubled the number compared to the 2005 edition. The event, one of the world's largest industrial trade fairs of agricultural and gardening equipment, attracted 1,800 manufacturers – 465 of which coming from 40 countries - showing their 25,000 wares on 103,000 square meter of exhibition space. Several foreign buyers visited the Veba group stand (hall 20, stand C89). They were interested in the design and production of components and power transmission systems, in particular reinforced rubber hoses and fittings.

The Veba group PRO-fit Division has brought in a new solution for improving the connection between BSP 60° hose connectors, thanks to the insertion of rubber O-rings in the conical sector. Now, a better tightness in the steel-to-steel applications is assured avoiding the undesired effects of leaking. The sizes go from ¼” to 2”. Yellow and black are the choiced colors for the new brand and the new logo of the company. We chose a new graphic garment for the brand with the purpose to increase the visibility of the products in the target of innovation. The restyling was carried out adopting two colors that represent the hydraulic market, the yellow one and the black one. Respect to the previous version, white - blue, we decided to privilege a brand easily identificabile, agreeable and incisive to the same time. A communication choice that represents the novelty of the company: investments in research and development to better answer to the requests of the market with new products and new services. Catalogs and informative material with the new version of the brand and of the logo will be available from July.

VEBA group “GO NOT GO GAUGES” are already in stock. Studied specifically for flexible braided steel hose, they are produced to control the collapse of inserts during the production of flexible hose. Today they are a necessary instrument because of the dimensional tolerance with which flexible hose, hose fittings and ferrules are made. Constructed in galvanised iron, each piece is made up of three elements, and the kit, in a practical case with the instructions in the “MANUAL FOR THE ASSEMBLAGE OF CONNECTED FLEXIBLE HOSES”, measures 3/16” by 1.1/4”. Sizes from 1.1/2” to 1.1/4” are available separately on request.

The new 'MANUAL FOR THE ASSEMBLAGE OF CONNECTED FLEXIBLE HOSES' was introduced during the Hannover Expo. It contains precious information for who assembles and crimps flexible hoses.

In order to obtain maximum performance levels from hose assemblies, VEBA group recommends not to assembly materials of different origins. Strict tests have been taken by VEBA group to verify this technical advice. Any problem regarding imperfections should be notified, writing directly to VEBA group which will take steps to check and solve the possible causes of the imperfection. Hose assemblies badly fitted or mounted, damaged or worn out and of poor quality can result in serious injuries, accidents or material destruction. We suggest you protect yourself and others by following some simple rules:

• Don’t use your hands to locate leakage;
• Some hydraulic fluids are inflammable. Don’t forget it;
• Place protections between you and the hydraulic circuit;
• When you test hose assemblies don’t expose yourself outside of the protections;
• For initial use always refer to a qualified expert.

Hoses & fittings should be inspected regularly to check ageing and wear. Hose assembly life depends on:

• Working frequency;
• Environmental conditions;
• Application intensity.
